57st. design is a Chicago-based contemporary-modern furniture studio and brand.
Where is your work made?
All our work is made in our Chicago workshop. We manufacture our own designs, as well as the work of other designers.
Do you offer discounts to the trade?
Yes, we offer discounts to designers and architects. Please get in touch with us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Is your work sustainable?
Yes! Though we shy away from novelty “eco-materials,” our design philosophy is grounded in sustainability. Our furniture is meant to last from generation to generation. This ethos is reflected in the choice of materials, the mode of construction, and our particular approach to finishing. All our wood is sustainably harvested.
Is assembly required?
The majority of our work comes fully assembled. Certain items require minimal assembly. If a particular item requires assembly, it will be clearly denoted on the product page, along with a short description of what sort of assembly is required.
Can I get samples?
Yes! Send us an e-mail at email@example.com specifying the samples you’d like, as well as your contact information, and we’ll send them to you free of charge.
Placing an Order & Payments
How do I place an order?

How long will it take to receive my order?
All our work is made to order. That means we build it from scratch after you place your order. Lead times range from 2-3 weeks to 4-5 weeks.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express.
Will I be charged sales tax?
It depends. If you live in Illinois, you will be charged Illinois sales tax. If you do not live in Illinois, you will not be charged sales tax-- that of Illinois or otherwise.
Why does my bank statement say 57th Street Bookcase & Cabinet?
All payments to 57st. design are processed through our sister company, 57th Street Bookcase & Cabinet.
Where is your work available?
All our work is available nationwide unless otherwise noted. Certain pieces are available exclusively in Chicagoland. If a piece is available exclusively in Chicagoland, it will be clearly denoted on that piece's product page.
How much is shipping?
Shipping is free on all pieces! (Both those available nationwide, as well as those available in Chicagoland exclusively.)
Where do you ship?
We ship to the contiguous United States. We do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico.
Do you ship internationally?
Unfortunately, we do not ship internationally.
What’s should I expect during delivery?
For deliveries in Chicagoland, you will receive a phone call to schedule the delivery once your piece is done and ready to leave our workshop. Our delivery team will offer you a selection of available times. (They tend to be accommodating, and are often able to schedule deliveries on evenings, as well as on weekends, in addition to during weekdays.) During the delivery, your piece will be brought into your home, unpacked, and placed in the room of your choice.
For deliveries outside Chicagoland, your piece will be shipped via standard UPS or FedEx. We will send you a confirmation e-mail when your piece ships from our workshop; you will be provided a tracking number, as well. Your piece will be packaged and delivered in a labeled 57st. design box. IMPORTANT: before signing for your piece, please inspect the box for any excessive damage! If you notice excessive damage to the box that may have occurred during transit, please refuse delivery and contact us immediately at email@example.com or at 773.819.0307.
I’m interested in a piece available only in Chicagoland, but I live outside of Chicagoland--what can I do?
Get in touch with us! We’re happy to discuss alternate arrangements by which we might be able to get our work to you, wherever you are.
