Inspired by Japanese design, the Linnea shelving system lies at the intersection of modern manufacturing technology and traditional craftsmanship. The shelves and verticals are precision cut by CNC from Baltic birch plywood, ensuring that each joint fits just so-- loose enough to be assembled with ease, but tight enough so that the unit as a whole is reliably strong. Each part is then gently sanded and finished by hand with a plant-based, Danish soap solution, leaving the wood smooth to the touch. Variably-spaced back panels, installed during assembly in grooves on the back edge of the shelves and verticals, offer critical stability, as well as visual interest. Each unit is dimensioned to minimize material waste during the manufacturing process. No screws, bolts, or other hardware needed-- assembly requires only a rubber mallet (included) to tap the joints together. The bottom of the verticals are cut at a slight angle so the unit leans against the wall, minimizing the chance of tipping. Additionally, each vertical has a cut-out at its base to accommodate baseboards.

The Linnea Shelf is available in 3 widths (36", 46" and 56"), and at 6 heights (2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 shelves). The depth of the shelves remains the same for each option. Shown below are diagrams of the shelves in the above photos.
